Here at last!

It took a little longer than anticipated, but I am sitting amongst a pile of boxes in my new home. Northern Canada is a beautiful place. Even as I look out my window over the city of Sudbury, I can still see vast expanses of forests! The people are friendly and the move went well, very little was damaged.
The network is set up and we're on high speed now. 16Mbps, which is super fast if you figure what most cable companies offer for internet. I still have so much work to do, unpacking and fixing the little things around the house, but I hope to have most of it done within the next month.
Eventually I'll get out and take some photos, so all of you can see the area. In the meantime, I'll keep posting blogs every couple of days and tell you what's happening in the world of writing.
Speaking of which, only a couple of weeks until Hunted by Chaos is released, keep an eye out for it!

Canada on the verge of death!

Well, not much here on the news front. I'm busy packing up everything for the move. So this is my last blog from my old place. The new house will have high speed, and I can't wait, unfortunately it won't be installed until the 26th. I'll be back then to let you know how everything went. In the meantime, I've got to comment on this stupid counterfeit crap going on. So many stores are refusing to accept large bills. Doesn't insurance cover stuff like that? I mean come on, if the LCBO (which is a government run liqueur store here in Canada) won't accept $100 bills then why are they even printing the money? The damn government is refusing to take it's own legal tender! Throw in the rising cost of gas which is increasing the cost of everything else and the whole country is going to hell! I say we're all screwed and the government is just going to collect their pay as they watch Canada die. I just hope their smart enough to cash those paychecks in small bills, otherwise their as lost as we are.
I could go on all day long, but there's still so much last minute packing that I'll stop now. Feel free to comment, I'll reply when I get back.
That's it, see you all on the 26th!
'til then, kepp reading!

Today, I tell you what's wrong with the world

I often sit here thinking about what is wrong with everyone. Not a day goes by where I see someone driving like an idiot. On top of that, the amount of rude people shoving past you in stores, or stopping in the middle of the aisle. Then there's work, everyone backstabbing the other to get ahead! I'm not saying there aren't good people out there, but they sure are hard to find these days.

The reason for all of this is simple, we are a ME generation. Everything is about me, I am the most important and nobody deserves to be ahead of me. Why are we this way, was it something our parent's said growing up? Possibly it is deeper than that, having been spoiled by all of this technology. You have to admit, the kids today are worse than we were, and we were pretty bad kids!

I guess the most important question on my mind is, how long can society continue to degrade until it collapses altogether? It can't be too far off, another few generations maybe. I think it's a very sad reality that we live in. Fair play has gone out the window. Remember when the customer was always right? That's gone because too many of us cheated the system. Companies learned not to trust us as consumers. Now the corporations are after the almighty buck, and screw all of us in the process!

In my upcoming novel Assassins' Treaty, my vision is realized and governments no longer control nations. They are instead run by the corporations. Laws are meaningless, except those that the corporations dictate. The pink slip has been replaced by skilled corporate assassins.

I sincerely hope that this will never come to pass, but we must stop it now before it's too late. I therefore call upon all of you good people out there. Give me something, anything to help us get back on coarse. I welcome all suggestions as to how I can aid humanity in becoming a better society!

If you think I'm wrong, don't be afraid to speak out. I want to know what you all think!

How does Battlestar do it?

Just watched the mid-season finale, holy crap!
Could they have made it any better? I think not! I'm amazed everytime I watch an episode, they drag you in, answer your questions from last week, then BAM! you get a flurry of new ones that need answering.
If I had half the talent the writers of the show have, then my books would be instant best sellers!
Stunning how they left it, so many questions! I don't want to put any spoilers in here, so I'll leave it at that, but OMG I can't wait until it starts again!
The suspense is literally killing me.

Reading is a lost art :(

You heard me, Reading is a lost art! So many people I talk to just aren't into reading for fun. Sure everyone has to read reports and letters and bills. Why is it that everyone escapes to the TV instead of a good book?
I enjoy television and movies as much as the next guy, but reading has it's rewards as well. I can't imagine giving up any of these pastimes.
If you think I'm wrong, and that reading is alive and well, then you should help me out. Sign up for a free account at Squidoo and join my group! I'll post the link below and in a month, we'll see if I was right or wrong.
Honestly, I'd join just for the pleasure of proving I don't know what I'm talking about.
Here's the link to my group, you can even comment without signing up for an account, so at least give it a peek and post your thoughts!

Natural Escape of my own

Well, the moving time is getting closer. For those of you not in the know, we've bought a house up north. Sudbury, Ontario, Canada! Though it's in town, it isn't as busy as Toronto. I'm looking forward to the relaxing atmosphere and the fishing. So many lures to choose from, so many lakes to visit, and a lot of great fish just waiting for me.
What kind of an author decides to move away from the hustle and bustle of city life to enjoy the great outdoors? Most of them I think...LOL
I think the first thing I want to do is find myself a big Sturgeon. That would be a helluva fight!
I'll be sure and take lots of pictures up there, maybe even post them of Flickr. I'll be sure and let all of you know when I post some, that way you can see how nice it is in Northern Canada!
Move date is set for the 22nd, so I'll be offline from the 21st until the 26th. Hopefully I'll be back on without any difficulties, and I'll have high speed, 16MBps!
Well, this is a short post, because I have too much packing and too little time.

Walking with old friends on Memory lane!

Another week and there's still not much to talk about folks. The weekend was great, even if it was a little too hot (read as record breaking high temperatures) up here in Canada. Still, you won't catch me complaining about it, I'd rather have 108 F (Around 34 for you fellow Canadians) than to have even a cm of snow on the ground.

Let's see now, I guess Facebook is still a big thing for me, I found out this weekend that an old friend from high school is a very successful author, you've probably heard of her, Michelle Rowen. Of course, Rowen was not her name back then, I think it's a pen name. It's amazing the people you run in to on that darn website. Michelle had a knack for the dramatic, which made her so fun to be around. I remember this one time, I may have said something to offend her...okay, I totally did, but then out of the blue she just stabs me with a pencil! I wasn't hurt of course, thanks to a denim jacket ;) Hmmm, reading that over, it sounds kind of bad, but it wasn't, we all had a big laugh and the day carried on as usual. I remember it fondly, just as I remember Michelle. Check out her website at http://www.michellerowen.com/

Another friend, Shawn Bentley has an album being released in August, Johnny Deerest(as in John Deere) is the name of the group. I'm looking forward to it because Shawn was always so talented back then. He has a website, but hasn't actually done anything with it yet, still if you like to watch birds circle overhead, check it out and bookmark it, because it will be good once he gets his butt in gear. http://johnnydeerest.com/

Speaking of getting off of one's butt, I suppose I should get around to making a website. I'm not sure if I want to though, I enjoy this blog much more than I would my own website. Less work really, all I have to do is spout off about whatever is on my mind.

It's been an enjoyable walk down memory lane, if you haven't tried Facebook yet, I highly recommend it. Especially if you knew me in the past, I want to hear from all the people I've lost touch with, you know who you are!

Freakin' Facebook!

I love Facebook! I can't believe how many people I've gotten in touch with. Long lost friends from as far back as primary school...LOL
New friends too, it's a great place to kill a few hours, but as everyone says, it's so darn addictive. The main problem with it is that you can't send messages to all of your friends at once, you have to break them up into groups of 20, which is retarded! If they accepted you as friends, then they should be excluded from the anti-spam policy.
Still, the advantages outweigh the drawbacks. I just wish there were more people on there. Some old friends I would love to track down have yet to make a profile. Ah well, we can't win them all.
Novel is going good, just finished the latest edits on Assassins' Treaty and gearing up for the big contest. Other than that, packing the house for the move to Sudbury. Those of you who know me, already know about the move, for the rest, it's taking place on the 22nd. I'll be gone for a little while until we get settled in and then I'll give you all the gory details.
The sequel is coming along nicely, ideas keep popping into my head, forcing me to re-evaluate the story's direction. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out. Tiger's Realm was supposed to be two books but is probably going to be a trilogy the way it's headed now.

Best Stanley Cup final in years!

What an amazing freakin' game! I couldn't believe it went on so long! I'm a die hard Leafs fan, and any Canadian team will do when the Leafs are out, but if I had to choose one American team to win the cup, it would be the town across the way from my hometown, Detroit! Way to go boys, you played some damn fine hockey this season and the playoffs are second to none! It's been years since I've watched such a great game of hockey. Penguins, well, though I'm not rooting for you, I'm still impressed with the skills. You guys are giving the Wings a run for their money and it wouldn't have been half as much fun with a lesser team. Both teams are well matched and have played some excellent hockey, especially the goalies! I can't wait to watch game 6!
Hats off to the Detroit Red Wings AND the Pittsburgh Penguins!
